Research and Recommendations on Open Technologies and Standards
Open Technologies Resource Center (OTRC) is a joint venture of High Level Commission for Information Technology (HLCIT, Government of Nepal) and IBM. We look ahead to working closely with academia and other industries to address the technology needs of the country, while implementing open standards and technologies.
Community Mobilization
Open Technologies Resource Center (OTRC) aims to work in tandem with the community and enable it to shoulder responsibilities of the technological needs of the nation.
OTRC recently organized a Ubuntu Localization camp (Left: a group photograph of the event) with a purpose of community mobilization and collaboration.
IT Park
Towards its commitment for the overall development of IT sector in the country, Government of Nepal embarked upon the task of establishing an IT park at Kavre along Banepa - Panauti highway. A Major indirect benefit will be the creation of a dedicated IT base, which will help Nepal in getting a due share of growing International Market in software and enabled services.
